Thom started fishing the Yellow Breeches at the age of 10 in the mid 50’s. He has been fishing the streams in South Central Pa ever since. He had one 3 year hiatus when he moved to the Pacific Northwest and fished the streams of Oregon and Northern California.
He is a registered Guide in Pa and guides on the South Central streams, from Bob’s creek in the west to the Codorus Creek in the East. Thom began tying flies in the mid 70’s and was the fly tying instructor at The Yellow Breeches fly shop in Boiling Springs for the past 7 years. Before coming to YBO he worked for the Orvis store in York Pa where he was a casting and tying instructor.
Thom is a contract tier for Orvis and Holly Flies and is on the Beulah Rods Pro Staff. He is well known for his CDC patterns and gives tying demos using this versatile material.
