Owner of the South Holston River Fly Shop in Bristol, TN. Raised with a long cane pole and a popping bug in my hand. In my early 20’s [some 40 years ago] I moved to the Mtns. of N.C. and started my lifelong passion of flyfishing and flytying for trout and smallmouth bass.
I love to flyfish but I truly love to tie bugs that catch trout. From my first Tellico nymph to today’s bugs for my son guide Matt Champion, it has thrilled me for people to catch fish on my bugs. And they do.
