Jake began fly fishing at age 11 on Pennsylvania’s Kettle Creek, where he fell in love with the sport. After spending a few years in Montana chasing trophy trout, he came back to southwest PA to finish school and was introduced to european style nymphing. Since then, fly fishing has taken him from the famous waters of the Rockies to the technical tail waters of the south. After volunteering at the 2013 Northeast Regional, Jake decided to give competitive fly fishing a try and instantly became addicted. A few short years later, Jake became a member of Team Freestone – one of the top fly fishing teams in the nation.
Jake also started Competitive Angler in 2014 which sells the cutting edge fly tying materials/gear and also is the head guide for the South Holston River Company.
