Captain Gary Dubiel is the owner and operator of Spec Fever Guide Service in Oriental, North Carolina. Spec Fever is a light tackle and fly rod charter service fishing the Neuse River out of Oriental, New Bern, and the Crystal Coast. He has been guiding clients for 17 years. Capt. Gary is on the TFO Advisory Staff and Pro Staff with DOA Lures, Costa, Rapala, Sufix and Columbia Clothing. He also works with other fine products like Penn Reels, Min Kota, Simms, Power Pole and Lee Fisher.
He has appeared on my sports fishing TV shows including George Poveromo’s World of Saltwater Fishing and Carolina Outdoor Journal and he has been featured in numerous magazines and books. His is a frequent speaker at the Saltwater Sportsman National Seminar Series and the Fly Fishing Show as well as at numerous other events. Capt. Gary has written for several magazines including as regional editor for Shallow Water Angler and he has authored several chapters in fly fishing books to be released in 2015.
His fly patterns have appeared in several books including Lefty’s Kreh’s Saltwater Fly Patterns as well as many magazines. Gary is an IGFA fly rod world record holder.
